A GROW Gardens Native Food Forest brings together Australian native plants that provide food, flavour, habitat, biodiversity and opportunities for learning.
Each garden is designed as a layered, living ecosystem rather than simply a collection of edible plants. Productive native species are supported by flowering plants, groundcovers and habitat plants that attract pollinators, protect the soil and strengthen the garden as a whole.
The plants selected for each Native Food Forest will vary depending on the location, size, growing conditions and purpose of the space. Each garden may include between one and six key planting zones, selected to suit the site and its community.
